Event Follow-up
Over 260 people attended "A Night of Miracles" on October 17, 2009 at The Fairmont Winnipeg and raised $60,000 for children living with special needs. Tracy Koga and Pat Kanuiga did a wonderful job of hosting the evening.
Guests were spellbound by a slide show presentation of children who have received equipment from the Foundation set to a very special song by Lynda Dobbin Turner "When You Look at Me". Lynda is the parent of Shane, a child who received services from the Centre. Shane passed away in the spring and the song is in his memory.
Later guests were captivated by a special video produced by Shaw featuring the 7th Annual A Night of Miracles ambassadors Matthew and Reisse. The boys and their mother Kyla spoke after the video to thank everyone for participating and making a difference in the lives of families like theirs.
Auctioneer Bill Knight raised some laughs and lots of funds for kids leading guests into good natured bidding for a great cause. A highlight of the evening was when a $3500 stroller for a teenage girl was purchased by a generous donor.
Our ambassadors Matthew and Reisse cut up the dance floor and proved to be a big hit with all of the ladies.
The event was the most successful yet. Special thanks to our sponosrs, prize spnosors, guests and the volunteer committee who made the night such a huge success for kids.
