7th Annual Wealth Planning Group Ride for Rehab

February 3-6, 2010 W.P.G. The Wealth Planning Group’s Ride for Rehab will host its 7th annual snowmobile event for kids.

We have been blessed with warm weather, but unfortunately not very much snow. So, in order to make Ride for Rehab 2010 a great experience for everyone, we are changing the Ride route to where there is lots of snow and well groomed trails!

The Ride route has been changed, and will now be starting in Kenora, Ontario going through Minnesota.

The Ride will begin around 7:00 am on Wednesday, February 3rd in Kenora. We will be sledding to International Falls, Minnesota where we will overnight at the Holiday Inn. On Day 2, we will do a day trip around the International Falls area, and again staying overnight at the Holiday Inn. On Day 3, we will travel from International Falls to Baudette, Minnesota, and will be spending the night at the Sportsman Lodge. On Day 4, we will sled from Baudette to Kenora, Ontario, and have our final wind up banquet and stay overnight back at the Best Western Lakeside Inn and Conference Centre in Kenora, Ontario.

With these changes, here are some important facts.

Important Fact #1:  Valid Canadian identification

With this change, it’s vital that each participating Rider has a valid passport, or Enhanced ID card, in order to cross the border into the States at Baudette, and back into Canada at Rainy River. Riders must carry their passport on them to cross the border– it can’t be stored in your luggage.

Important Fact #2:  Sled Registration

Please ensure you bring your sled registration with you, and have it ready to present at the US border.

Important Fact #3:  Cellphones

Because we’re travelling into the States, you may want to call your cell phone company to ask about getting a temporary US package added to your plan for the duration of the Ride. This will cut down on the roaming charges from calling from Minnesota which can be expensive.

Important Fact #4:  Tuesday accommodations

If you plan on staying in Kenora the night before the Ride starts (Tuesday, February 2nd), please reserve your hotel room by calling the Lakeside Inn in Kenora at tel: 1 (807) 468-5521. We have a block of rooms booked. Please mention you are with the Ride for Rehab.

If you booked accommodations at South Beach for Tuesday night, please remember to cancel your booking.

Important Fact #5: Wind up banquet and lodging on Saturday, February 6th

If you have extra guests who would like to attend the final wind up banquet on Saturday in Kenora, please let Chris Schollenberg know by Friday, January 22nd. Chris can be reached at tel: 204-477-4587 or email: chris@crf.mb.ca. Tickets for extra guests are $25.00 each.

If you have extra guests staying overnight with you on Saturday night in Kenora, please let Chris Schollenberg (number above) know by Friday, January 22nd so we can finalize the room arrangements.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Chris Schollenberg, Development Officer, Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation at tel: 477-4587; email: chris@crf.mb.ca, or Carole Gingera, Administrative Assistant at tel: 452-4311 x 182; email: carole@crf.mb.ca.

It’s going to be another great Ride for Rehab!
