The Headingley Fire Department Run for Wishes
The Headingley Fire Department Run for Wishes has once again chosen the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation as their charity. The Run takes place on Saturday, May 30th, at 126 Bridge Road, Headingly (south of Nick's). For information on the Run for Wishes please contact Glenn Reimer, volunteer firefighter at 889-5806. Over 500 people participated last year!
In 2007, the the Headingley Fire Department Run for Wishes partnered with the Foundation and came to the rescue for Cameron. Funds raised from this event paid for Cameron's first ever bicycle.
Cameron is a nine-year-old Winnipeg boy who, like other children his age, longed to have his own bicycle. A congenital disability allowing him limited independent movement made that dream nearly impossible. A Duet bicycle was purchased for Cameron. He can now experience the simple pleasure of a spring bike ride with his family.
The Children's Rehabilitation Foundation is grateful to once again partner with the Headingley Fire Department Run for Wishes. This year funds will be used to purchase a Grillo Gait Trainer for Dylan and a Special bike for Sheryl.
