Event Follow-up
Women enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Ste. Adolphe Ladies Night Fundraiser hosted by Brigitte Lagasse. Brigitte knows firsthand the extras involved in raising a child with special needs and is committed to making a difference in the lives of other families with similar experiences. This is the second year in a row that Brigitte has planned and put on this unique social for women and dedicated the funds to the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation.
Women purchased fun bucks to participate in activities like getting a henna, a manicure, waxing, "special" dance lessons, making your own jewellry and much more. A fabulous raffle auction and a silent auction for a weekend stay at the Rod and Reel Resort in Sioux Narrows drew a lot of attention and contributions.
An unexpected addition this year was the male server auction, where 6 gentlemen were auctioned off to be servers for an hour for the highest bidder. The bidding was heated as some individuals purchased servers and other groups of women combined their cash to be the highest bidder. The gentlemen were great sports, and excellent servers...some even danced with the winners.
Special thanks to Brigitte and all of the people who helped her to organize yet another successful event. Thank you as well to all of the individuals who donated auction prizes and those who came to enjoy the fun. Your participation will make a world of difference in the lives of children with special needs. Over $4000.00 was raised in 2009, altogether over $10,000.00 has been raised thanks to this great event.
